  • Structural analysis of buildings including lateral load resisting systems
  • Design of structural components - steel, reinforced concrete or timber
  • Foundation design
  • Design of other structures - bridges, culverts and low dams

Mr. Huse has a BS degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Massachusetts and was licensed as a Structural Engineer in Maine.  He participated in the design of foundations for two nuclear power plants and was in responsible charge of several water and wastewater treatment plants, water and wastewater pumping stations, and a central steam generation plant for Amherst College.

After relocating to the Pacific Northwest, Mr. Huse has been licensed to practice in Washington as a civil engineer which allows him to provide structural engineering for all but those structures defined as significant structures in RCW 18.43.020.  Almost no structures constructed in the San Juan Islands are significant structures as defined by the RCW.  While practicing in Washington, Mr. Huse has been in responsible charge of the design for industrial buildings, hydraulic structures and earth dams.

In the San Juan Islands, Mr. Huse has been providing consulting and forensic engineering services.
